
Misha Collins born Misha Dmitri Tippens Krushnic; August 20, 1974 in Boston, Massachusetts. He has said that his surname, Krushnic, "goes back six generations in Canada and we’re not sure where they came from". Before acting, he interned for four months at the White House during the Clinton Administration in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Misha attended Northfield Mount Hermon School and the University of Chicago, where he studied social theory.
Then, on a lark, Misha decided to take an acting class, and soon found himself in the midst of a career change. He got a call for a role in Liberty Heights (directed by Barry Levinson), and then landed a part in Girl, Interrupted. He moved to Los Angeles soon thereafter, and now has a substantial list of acting credits to his name, including roles on 24, ER, CSI, Monk, Charmed and NYPD Blue.
Having traveled in Russia and mastered the accent, Misha has been called on several times to play Russian characters in television series—most notably the villainous assassin, Alexis Drazen, on 24. He has also appeared in seven independent feature films, most recently Stonehenge Apocalypse.
Misha wrote and directed the short film Stranger Danger. He was a producer and also acted in the web series Divine: The Series.
In 2013 Misha will do voice over work on a new animated webseries for the CW alongside Justin Hartley.
In 2002, Collins married Victoria Vantoch, they have a son, West Anaximander Collins (born September 23, 2010), and a daughter, Maison Marie Collins (born September 25, 2012).

In addition to his role on "Supernatural," Misha guest starred on "Nip/Tuck" as a prospective patient of McNamara/Troy. Other television appearances include recurring roles on "ER" and "24" and guest appearances on "CSI:NY," "NCIS," "Monk," "Close to Home" and "NYPD Blue."
On the big screen, Misha is best known for his role as serial killer Paul Bernardo in the film "Karla." Other film credits include "Par 6," "Moving Alan,' "Liberty Heights," "Girl Interrupted" and "Finding Home."
In his down time, Collins can be found outdoors kayaking, biking, running or hiking in the mountains. He also enjoys back-country snowboarding and recently took a winter trip to the Sierras where he built and slept in igloos. In addition, Collins is a published poet with works in "The Columbia Poetry Review," "The California Quarterly" and other literary journals. Misha currently resides in Los Angeles in a house he built and designed himself.
Misha co-founded and is the Board President of Random Acts, a non-profit organization that aims to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time. Random Acts is dedicated to funding and inspiring acts of kindness around the world.
